WELLCOME TO VÄNNÄS

The railway costruction in the north of Sweden is the main point of Vànnàs development.

Starting by the middle of nineteenth, when the railway works from south to north regions of Sweden started, Vànnàs became an important railway junction to the north of the country. Even today we find in Vànnàs railway support services structures and an efficient terminal for transport of goods.

Surrounded by the nature, Vànnàs is in the middle of the two major rivers of the north of Sweden: Umeàlven and Vindelàlven rivers. There are many lakes nearby and very good opportunities for fishing.

In the region it is possible going mushrooming, picking blackberry, hunting and fishing or, even only sitting down in front of a bonfire looking at the wild panorama. With some fortune it’s also possible to see one of the several elks who lives in the woods.

The are many opportunities for all who wants to make activities in the woods: sailing along the rivers, digging gold, riding horses. In winter time it’s possible going on the snowboard or skiing.

How is the life in Vànnàs

At 25 Km from Vànnàs there is the City of Umeà with about 100,000 inhabitants and an important university.

In Sweden the Towns Administrations take care of public instruction and children and old assistance. For the above many inhabitants of Vànnàs work in schools, kindergartens, and centers for the olds assistance.

In Vànnàs there are more than 350 firms who operate in several sectors: industrial, services, transports and comunications
The most important firm is "Vànnàs Dòrr" that produce doors. There is also an important saw-mill who exports in Italy a great part of its production.

 

Free time

In Vànnàs operate a lot of associations in the free time organization.

There is an Ice-hockey rink, beautiful skiing pistes and, for those who loves horse riding, one of the most beautiful stud farms of the region.
Futhermore in Vànnàs takes always place the Car Rally National Championship.

School instruction

The Town Adiministration is responsible for the youngs education till the high schools.
In Vànnàs there are eight different schools among elementary and secondary ones.
